Eye and Brow Artistry by Sumita

Farrier & Draper in the classic Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin provided the
perfect setting for the launch in Ireland of Sumita Eye and Brow Artistry. The room dripped
with decadency as black popcorn, served with a glass of bubbly was accompanied by
deliciously decadent cupcakes. In keeping with the products, gold and black provided the
colour theme for the evening. We were even treated to a six-packed golden boy posing for
pictures with the beautiful goldenhaired model to enhance the effect! The top international
brow artist, Emeline Leduc, who was in Dublin to launch Sumita Eye and Brow Artistry,
conducted a master class which focussed, unsurprisingly, on eyes.
Trends in beauty come and go and not many of us are lucky enough to be suited to
every trend that appears on the scene. So, at a personal level, I was absolutely delighted to
hear that, while eyes and brows will continue to make a powerful fashion-forward statement
for AW17, the look is less over-the- top and more natural looking. So, forget those overly-
coloured, overly-dark, often over-the- top brows gals, subtlety will be quietly, yet noticeably,
taking over in eye beauty.
But subtlety and a natural look doesn’t necessarily mean that eyes are going to lose
their drama. Eyebrows will always frame our faces when it comes to beauty, it’s just that the
exaggerated big and bold brow is being replaced by a more natural brow. One tip which
Emeline shared is to think one shade lighter than your natural hair colour when choosing a
colour for your brows this season. To quote her, “achieving beautiful eyes starts with having
the right products. Sumita’s line up of luxury formulation eye and brow essentials transforms
even the most unruly, sparse, or over-plucked brows into outstanding, perfect arches to suit
your individual face shape and colour.”
Armed with a very generous goodie bag which included a Sumita brow pencil (€21), a
Sumita brow highlighter (€21), and a Sumita centre stage mascara (€25), I can’t wait to put
these products and their claims to the test.
The Sumita range also includes a gel eyeliner (€21) which comes in black, brown, and
forest green, and claims to be the most waterproof and smudge-proof liner available, with
high intensity pigments which provide ideal coverage and rich colours to help achieve perfect
and dramatic eye looks.
If someone you know is looking to treat you to a luxurious gift without breaking the
bank, you could hint at the Sumita VIP Box (€79). This provides you with Sumita’s most
popular products in one box at an affordable price. The box contains 1 Brow Wax, 1 medium

brow pencil, 1 dual sharpener, 1 black eyeliner pencil, 1 black liquid eyeliner, 1 black full-
size mascara, makeup corrector swabs, and an eye-catching, gold eye and brow cosmetic bag.
